Designations and Certifications

The National Association of REALTORS® and its affiliated Institutes, Societies, and Councils provide a wide range of programs and services that help members increase their skills, proficiency, and knowledge. Designations and certifications acknowledging experience and expertise in various real estate sectors are awarded by NAR and each affiliated group upon completion of required courses.

MoreMLS/FlexMLS training and support

MOREMLS offers free hands on training webinars to its members.  As well, FlexMLS offers live webinars, recorded trainings and short tip videos to help our members get the most out of the FlexMLS platform.

These webinars are highly recommended for both new and existing members of the MLS.

NJREC Requirements

All actively licensed NJREC brokers and salesperson are required to complete 12 hours of continuing education in order to successfully renew their real estate license.

The new term begins July 1, 2023 and concludes June 30, 2025.  The following must be met in order to successfully renew:

1 Fair Housing Credit
2 Ethics Credits
3 Core Credits (at least 1 Course in Agency)
6 Credits of Core and/or Elective Topics

Please note, to avoid a $200 penalty,
licensees are required to complete their CE requirements by April 30, 2025

National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Code of Ethics

REALTORS® are required to complete ethics training of not less than 2 hours, 30 minutes of instructional time.  The training must meet specific learning objectives and criteria established by the National Association of REALTORS®.  The current term (Cycle 8) began January 1, 2025 and concludes December 31, 2027. 

NEW IN CYCLE 8 – FAIR HOUSING REQUIREMENT

The new Fair Haven 2.0 will fulfill the Fair Housing requirement required for both existing (cycle 8) and new members (those joining January 1, 2025 and later) of NAR.  Both new and existing members will still need to complete Ethics in addition to this course to maintain their membership.

Fair Haven 2.0

Fair Haven 2.0 is one of the several methods to fulfill the Fair Housing requirement.  Members can also complete this via Fair Housing courses provided by MORR, taking NAR’s At Home With Diversity, or by completing NAR’s Bias Override: Overcoming Barriers to Fair Housing.
